Sharon and I want to thank everyone for their kind wishes, prayers, and words of encouragement for the journey we begin today.
We arrived at the hospital at 4:45 this morning. Sawyer and his fiance, Ava, are here with me. Some tension was released early on when Sharon's nurse for the day, Natalie, introduced herself and she and Sawyer recognized each other from high school days and quickly caught up.
Sharon was in good spirits as we left her prep room around 6:30 and she headed to anesthesia for a nerve block. We won't see her again till after surgery which, as I look at the update screen, has just begun. Surgery is expected to take about 8 hours. They said they might call me with updates every couple of hours but that's not guaranteed. I won't really hear from the surgeon until the operation is complete. I'll provide updates when I have any new information but know that this won't be frequent. We are glad, and feel extremely fortunate, that we have some of the country's top experts in this type of surgery performing this operation just one mile from our home and we are confident in a positive outcome.
Praise the Lord! Seems like the findings are better than expected. So glad the waiting is over for you all. Hoping for rest for everyone this eve. Thank you so much for the updates. Bill and Lorrie
Sending prayers to Sharon, her medical team, and all of you. With love from the Lombardi family ♥️
