I just heard from the surgeon that Sharon is out of surgery and doing well, under the circumstances. They did remove her appendix, gallbladder, spleen, the abdominal lining where some of the cancer was, and her ovaries. They also did the chemo wash throughout. While that sounds extensive, it could have been a lot worse. No resection of the bowels or intestines was needed. That hopefully means a shorter road to recovery as well. We will be able to see her in about an hour or so, but she will likely still be under anesthesia. This is all good news and the doctor said she may not even need to be in the ICU, though that is still possible.
