I really thought I had today’s headline ready early this morning: Inflation Concerns Heighten. It was perfect because Sharon was told the last hurdle before going home would be to make sure she could fully inflate her lungs. Well, I always said she had a nice set of lungs on her. And today they came through in the clutch. After the morning’s PT session, and a shot of Lasix, she was breathing much better and we are hoping/expecting that she will be released sometime tomorrow. It is not guaranteed, but a good possibility.
After digesting this tremendous news, a grim reality settled in for both of us. I will now be in charge of her care. She will be totally dependent on me for everything. (Insert maniacal laugh here). I’m quite sure that the pleasant tone she uses with the nurses will be gone before our car exits the hospital parking lot. Maybe sooner. I told her I would check in on her once an hour and suggested she make a list of everything she might need prior to that, so I could get her everything at once versus her asking for something every 5 minutes. You guessed it: massive stink eye.
Anyhow, while I’m sure we will get on each other’s nerves at times, we are both thrilled that we will be able to traverse this road to recovery together. (I told you she approves and edits what I write now, didn’t I?)
Prayers she gets to leave and can feel better in the comforts of her own home. Sorry I am still in my boot and unable to drive so I can’t be of help. I will be in touch as soon as I am released as well!!
Looking forward to seeing you guys again😊
