Brief ICU Update

Sharon is talking more this morning but also still drifting off quite a bit. She remains in the ICU getting heated oxygen because of fluid around the lungs. They will likely need to add a drainage tube and we are waiting to hear from the doctor about what is involved to make that happen. We just received a more detailed overview of yesterday's operation and it sounds like there were some additional linings of the pelvis and abdomen that needed sections removed and also many tumors that were debunked. But everything seems to have gone well other than the fluid buildup. She complains about being very warm, and we are told that is from the combination of the morphine, the heated oxygen, and the chemo treatment she underwent. Today will be a little hectic and I may only have one more update at the end of the day if things remain pretty much the same. Thanks again for all the well wishes and support.
